MARYAM FARSHADFAR

Maryam Farshadfar has nurtured a passion for the piano since the age of six—a journey that has taken her across the world to perform and share her love of music. She holds degrees in hardware engineering and ethnomusicology and has appeared in solo recitals and chamber ensembles at venues including Tehran’s Niavaran Hall, the Konzerthaus Freiburg in Germany, and the Netherlands’ Grounds.

Her doctoral research, The Practice of Persian Piano in Iran, makes an original contribution to world music scholarship by exploring the distinctive tradition of Persian piano.

In addition to her work as a performer and scholar, Maryam enjoys reading, sports, and spending time with her two children. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
